Behind every great brand campaign image is a hair and makeup team working to brief, on schedule, and under pressure. Editorial and commercial shoots have a different pace and set of demands to live events – and getting the right team in place from the start makes everything smoother.
Here’s how professional editorial HMUA teams operate, and what to expect when you work with One Tribe Beauty on a shoot.
Pre-production brief
Before the shoot, One Tribe works with the creative director, photographer, or stylist to understand the look direction. We build mood boards and a detailed makeup brief that every artist on the team is aligned to before day one. This means no interpretation gaps on set.
Artist selection
We select artists from our national network based on the specific aesthetic requirements of the shoot. A high-fashion editorial shoot needs different skills to a corporate headshot campaign – we match accordingly.
On-set coordination
On the day, our team lead manages artist scheduling, model or talent transitions, look consistency between shots, and any creative adjustments called by the director or photographer. The production team has one point of contact for all beauty decisions.
Multi-day productions
For campaigns that run across multiple shoot days, we coordinate artist teams throughout, ensuring look continuity from day to day and managing any schedule changes as they happen.
Specialty looks
One Tribe offers SFX, UV neon, body paint, and avant-garde makeup for fashion-forward editorial concepts, in addition to clean, commercial, and high-fashion beauty looks.
Available for editorial shoots and commercial productions across Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
